The Liquidity of Pink Emeralds
Unlike commodities and other investments, gemstones are insulated from the daily fluctuations of the markets and are not as likely to reflect sharp price changes. Because the international demand for the very finest, world class one of a kind collectible gemstones greatly exceeds the supply, they are usually easily liquidated in certain major gem centers throughout the world. HOW CAN I LIQUIDATE MY GEMSTONE INVESTMENT? Gemstones are bought and sold on a daily basis all over the world. Jewelers are all potential buyers, as are gemstone dealers. Gems and jewelry are regularly sold by major auction houses. The simplest method of liquidation, however, is to allow the original seller to broker the stones. This assures the most credible possible transaction for both buyer and seller. The time required for liquidation is a function of the price originally paid for the stone, the holding period, and the state of the economy and gemstone market at the time of resale. Gemstones, like real estate, are best considered for long-term growth and should not be relied upon for short-term cash needs. The finer the stones quality, the rarer the stone is within a marketplace that appreciates its value, the quicker and the easier the gemstone can be liquidated. If the stone is not of fine quality and it isn't rare and the marketplace doesn't currently appreciate its true value, liquidity will suffer. The Pink Emerald Company
